Inherent Worth and Dignity Misconstrued

Our first Principle, “respect for the inherent worth and dignity of every person,” calls us to focus, first and foremost, on the positive aspects of each and every person. Focusing on the positive instead of the negative is an important shift away from some of the fundamental teachings of the Christian faith tradition, which both Unitarianism and Universalism have their roots in. Is it possible though that our first Principle may be misconstrued in a manner that could be detrimental?
